Introduction Delhi Government's Saheli Pink Smart Card Yojana is a free public transport initiative introduced by the Government of NCT of Delhi for women, girls, and transgender persons. The scheme allows eligible beneficiaries to travel without paying bus fare on Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) and Cluster buses operating within Delhi. To improve transparency and simplify access, the Government has replaced the earlier paper-based Pink Ticket system with the digital National Common Mobility Card (NCMC), known as the Saheli Pink Smart Card. The scheme was launched on 2 March 2026 and is implemented by the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC). Eligible applicants aged 5 years or above who are permanent residents of Delhi can obtain the Smart Card free of cost. Although the card can also be used for travel in the Delhi Metro and RRTS, the free travel benefit is available only on DTC and Cluster bus services. Applicants can obtain the Smart Card through authorised NCMC Distribution Centres established across Delhi or complete online pre-registration using the Mufin Pay Portal. Aadhaar authentication and mobile number verification are mandatory before the card is issued. Latest Update The Delhi Government has extended the validity of the existing Pink Ticket system until 15 August 2026. Women who have not yet received the Saheli Pink Smart Card can continue travelling free of cost in DTC and Cluster buses using Pink Tickets during this period. From 16 August 2026, the Saheli Pink Smart Card (NCMC) will become mandatory for availing the free bus travel facility. Passengers without a valid Smart Card will have to purchase a regular bus ticket.
