Introduction Goa Government launched the Laadli Laxmi Scheme on 06-07-2012. This is girl centric scheme which aims to decrease the infant mortality rate and to stop child marriages. This scheme is implemented by Women and Child Development Department of Goa Government. Government provides financial assistance of Rs. 1 lakh to all eligible girl beneficiaries under this scheme. Initially the benefits will be provided in the form of opening a fixed deposit account jointly in the name of girl beneficiary and Director of Women and Child Development Department. When girl attains the age of 18 years or wants to getting married or wants to pursue higher education or wants to do business then she can claim the amount of Rs. 1 Lakh under Laadli Laxmi Scheme. Married Girl will have to claim the amount within 6 months of marriage by submitting valid marriage certificate. The Application Form can be taken from Women and Child Development Office. Benefits Financial Assistance of Rs. 1 Lakh as a Fixed Deposit to Girl children. Amount can be claimed in the following circumstances :- When Girl attains the Age of 18 years. When Girl is getting married. (Age should be between 18 to 45 years) When Girl wants to pursue higher education or to do business. Eligibility Girl Beneficiaries of Goa are only Eligible. Girl child should be born in Goa and should be residing in Goa for 15 years. Any one of the parent of the Girl should be born in Goa and residing in Goa for 15 years. If any one parent of Girl is a resident of Goa for 25 years then she is also eligible. Annual Family Income should not be more than Rs. 3 Lakh. Documents Birth Certificate. Residence Certificate. Aadhar Card. Marriage Certificate. (For Married) Family Income Certificate. Passport Size Photo. (2 in Number) Details of Bank Account. Process to Apply Girl Beneficiary can apply for financial assistance under Laadli Laxmi Scheme through submission of a filled in Application Form. Application Form is available in District Office of Women and Child Development Department. Application to be filled and attached with all the required documents. Submit Laadli Laxmi Application Form along with all the documents in the same district office of DWCD. List of Beneficiary Girls will be made after thorough verification. A joint account will be opened in the name of Director of Department of Women and Child Development and Beneficiary Girl as fixed deposit for the amount.
