Introduction The Madhya Pradesh Mukhyamantri Dairy Plus Yojana was launched by the state government on 29 September 2022 with the objective of strengthening milk production and encouraging dairy-based livelihoods. The scheme focuses on supporting farmers and livestock rearers by helping them purchase two high-quality, pregnant Murrah breed buffaloes, known for their superior milk yield. This scheme is implemented by the Animal Husbandry and Dairy Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh. Financial assistance is provided in the form of a direct subsidy, which is credited to the beneficiary’s bank account after successful purchase and verification. To ensure fair distribution of benefits, the government has divided applicants into different social categories, with subsidy rates varying accordingly. It is important to note that the subsidy is strictly limited to Murrah breed buffaloes only. Interested beneficiaries must apply through the offline mode by visiting designated veterinary or animal husbandry offices at the local level. Benefits Financial support for purchasing two Murrah breed buffaloes. 50% subsidy for applicants from General and OBC categories. 75% subsidy for applicants belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) categories. Direct transfer of subsidy amount to the beneficiary’s bank account. Encourages dairy farming and increases milk production capacity. Helps rural families generate stable income through livestock rearing. Eligibility To avail benefits under the Mukhyamantri Dairy Plus Yojana, applicants must meet the following conditions :- Must be a permanent resident of Madhya Pradesh. Applicants from General, OBC, SC, and ST categories are eligible. Must have adequate space or shelter for keeping buffaloes. Subsidy is available only for the purchase of exactly two Murrah buffaloes. Applicant should be capable of managing basic dairy-related infrastructure. Documents Applicants are required to submit the following documents along with the application form :- Proof of permanent residence in Madhya Pradesh. Caste certificate. (if applicable) SAMAGRA ID number. Recent passport-size colour photograph. Bank account details for DBT transfer. Details of existing cattle shed or infrastructure. Registered mobile number for communication. Process to Apply The Mukhyamantri Dairy Plus Yojana follows an offline application process. Beneficiaries can apply by following these steps :- Visit any one of the following offices to obtain the application form (free of cost) :- Veterinary Officer’s Office. In-Charge Veterinary Hospital Office. Deputy Director, Veterinary Services Office. Animal Dispensary Officer’s Office. Carefully fill in all required details in the application form. Attach self-attested copies of all necessary documents. Submit the completed form at the same office from where it was collected. Collect the acknowledgement slip as proof of submission. After submission the application is first verified by the Gram Panchayat. Eligible applications are forwarded to the Janpad Panchayat. Final approval is granted by the District Panchayat’s Agricultural Standing Committee. Once approved and buffaloes are purchased, the subsidy amount is credited directly to the beneficiary’s bank account.
