<h3>Introduction</h3> <ul> <li>The Uttarakhand state government is implementing the Electricity Subsidy Scheme in the State. </li> <li>This scheme is implemented in State with the help of Uttarakhand Power Corporation Limited.</li> <li>The main objective of this scheme is to provide relief to people of Uttarakhand from high prices of electricity.</li> <li>Uttarakhand Government under its "Electricity Subsidy Scheme" will now provide subsidy on bill amount on a certain monthly consumption.</li> <li>People will get maximum 50% subsidy on electricity bills under this scheme.</li> <li>In Hilly Areas of Uttarakhand if a household is consuming maximum 200 units of electricity per month then they are eligible to get subsidy on electricity bills.</li> <li>However, in plain areas the maximum consumption limit is 100 units per month.</li> <li>Only those households are eligible who has Domestic Electricity Connection of 1 KW.</li> <li>Government of Uttarakhand estimates that more than 11 lakh people will get benefit under this scheme.</li> <li>UPCL will automatically issue subsidized bills if consumer consumes monthly electricity within maximum consumption limit so there is no need to apply separately.</li> </ul> <h3>Benefits</h3> <ul> <li>Subsidy of 50% on Domestic Electricity Bill Amount if consumption is within prescribed limit.</li> </ul> <h3>Eligibility</h3> <ul> <li>Permanent Resident Households of Uttarakhand.</li> <li>Households should have valid 1 KW Domestic Electricity Connection.</li> <li>Electricity Consumption Limit for Hilly Areas is 200 Units per month.</li> <li>For Plain/ Other Areas, the Electricity Consumption Limit is 100 Units per month.</li> </ul> <h3>Documents</h3> <ul> <li>Recent Electricity Bill.</li> </ul> <h3>Process to Apply</h3> <ul> <li>No need to apply separately to get subsidy on monthly electricity usage under this scheme.</li> <li>UPCL will generate subsidized bills in favour of consumers if they consume monthly electricity under prescribed limit.</li> <li>Consumers will only have to pay the subsidized amount of electricity bill.</li> </ul> <h3>Contact</h3> <ul> <li>Contact Uttarakhand Power Corporation Limited on 1912 or mail on customercare@upcl.org</li> </ul>
